About

I grew up enchanted with various snippets of embroidery that I came across in my daily life. A goldfish swimming on gossamer organza encased in a swiveling mahogany frame in the window of a Vancouver shop. Two embroidered Edo characters conversing amid couched gold pines on an antique green Japanese fukusa. A print of an eighteenth century embroideress leaning against her frame as she embellishes a panel for a waistcoat.

Since 2000, I have been blessed with the opportunity to meet and study with several amazing embroiderers around the world, and my childhood fancy has deepened into a lifelong passion as I learned more and more about the myriad techniques and expressive potential of this art.

This site showcases my adventures, collection and sometimes, projects related to embroidery, and I hope you enjoy your visit as much as I enjoy maintaining it. Please do stop by my embroidery gallery and check out my weekly blog (it's a little pleasure garden of the things I love best: dolls, miniatures, historical dress and beyond all, lots and lots of beautiful embroideries). If you have a moment, I would also love to hear from you!
